3/22/10- 9:12pm, Central Coast, Ca.
I’ve had this idea for a short story; it keeps coming while I’m in the car & fading by the time I get home. I can’t write it unless it’s right there on top waiting to pour out; really amped on it, though, so hopefully it comes to fruition soon. Been blocked on song writing lately. I wrote a slew for the new EP & then the creative juices just took a dive. But like Raz always says, “creativity is cyclical, you just have to go with the motions of life.”
Spring is almost here. I’m not sure when the official date is, & I don’t follow the groundhog much, but I say it’s here when california weather represents it; and it’s coming but it’s not here yet. I pine for the warm summer days & early morning fog. For the early mornings where the cold tempature won’t threaten to kill a man. Man has it ever been a long december, maybe this year will be better than the last.
We’ve got a gig coming up; I’ll plug more of it later as I receive more details…. But it should be a great night. On 4/3 Joe Koenig & myself are going to co-headline a show in San Luis at The Clubhouse. The show will be recorded live & if all pans out we should have a digital release of it within a month or so. Rocky Logue of Hazel Lane Studios is engineering the recording & cinematographer John Turner will be there filming it. Joe’s been cranking on some new material he’s ready to bring to the stage & I have a set with new songs I’ll be playing as well. As of now me & the cellist are aiming to rock the 45 minute set yet we’ve been rehearsing with a guitarist from north county we might have sit in…. Bring a little more dynamic to the show.
Either way, should be an epic night of music, brews, grub & good vibes with the hometown people on the 3rd… Really looking forward to this set. I believe it’s a five dollar cover at the door, 18+. I’ll let you know more details as they get shot my way.
