3-28-10- 2:24pm- Central Coast, Ca
It was late the night before when Joe text me asking if i was down to roll to the LA show with him. I had a friend over to the house… we we’re hangin’ around like we were living in the good old days and i tilted my mind to the right thinking of work the day after the show and how fast 6am would come.
“you want to go to LA?” i asked
“sure” she replied
So i responded to Joe, he was amped, i was amped, and by 3:30pm the next day the three of us we’re trekking our way down to babylon.
The ride was smooth, the venue was legit, the company was awesome.
Got to see Mikey again and KP came down. We all hung around drinking whiskey and music; saw an old friend from middle school.
I could go on about the dynamic of the night and all the dirty, but all that really matters is it was a stellar show and Joe killed the night with his two sets. Phoebe brought down the house on violin; and when she and Joe jammed “Feel Me” i saw Joe take it to a whole other level. I have it filmed… on the play back i saw Joe come to the climax at the end of the song, back 5′ off the mic & belt like no one has ever belt before. His guitar and the violin were pumping through the main PA’s & with no mic his vocals came through the mix like Rick Ruben was there dialing. It was one of those unreal moments that you might only see once. luckily i got it on video
Anyway, everyone is on hiatus from the public eye until the April 3rd show. We’re both looking forward to the show; friends coming all the way from LA and San Francisco; Logue tracking it for the opportunity of a live album available digital download. TURNED Productions filming it. Should be stellar.
